Aves Lair was a tech startup accelerator launched in 2019. As a design intern tasked with rebranding it’s visual identity, I took inspiration from the name Aves Lair, which means "a nesting ground for birds" (infant birds yet to take flight), symbolizing young startups being nurtured to prepare to spread their wings. I designed a simple abstract mark that captured the feeling of "flight". Like a Rorschach test, it resembles many things—a rocket taking off, a bird with its wings trailing in flight, or an arrow pointing upwards. In combination with other brand assets like the typefaces, colors, and design elements, I gave Aves Lair a professional face reflecting its ambitions to help the most cutting edge startups in new technologies take flight.
